DISCLAIMER: City Wide Software and the author of Disk Photo
give no guarentee, expressed or otherwise, as to the
functionality of this software, or the processed disks by Disk
Photo. Use at your own risk.
Brief Description:
Disk Photo was originally designed to increase the speed of making
a backup copy of software, and to enable the storage of installation
disks on a tape backup. This program is NOT intented for pirating
software in ANY form.
Disk Photo will take the sector information from a floppy disk,
and save it to the hard drive in a file. This means that labels, and
file names are all saved automatically. Any simple copy protection for
the floppys will be transferred as well, to ensure you have a good
backup copy of your originals.
Usage:
Disk Photo has a simple command line parser which will look for
three pieces of information. These are the file name, the drive to
photo, and the number of disks in the set that you are about to photo.
Examples:
DskPhoto DiskA
- Will photo one disk from drive A: to a file named
DiskA.DSK
DskPhoto B: DiskB
- Will photo one disk from drive B: to a file named
DiskB.DSK
DskPhoto DiskA 2
- Will photo two disks from drive A: to a file named
DiskA.DSK
DskPhoto B: DiskB.DRV 5
- Will photo five disks from drive B: to a file named
DiskB.DRV
The MakeDsk utility also has a simple command line parser which
looks for three pieces of information. These are the file name again,
the drive to write, and the starting position in the file. The starting
postition in the file is defaulted to 1, which is the first disk. The
number symbolizes which disk to start on.
Examples:
MakeDsk DiskA
- Will rebuild all disks from file DiskA.DSK to the
drive A:
MakeDsk B: DiskB
- Will rebuild all disks from file DiskB.DSK to the
drive B:
MakeDsk DiskA 2
- Will rebuild all but disk 1 from file DiskA.DSK to
the drive A:
MakeDsk B: DiskB.DRV 4
- Will rebuild all disks except one through four from
file DiskB.DRV to the drive B:
